Product Description:

The Bikelid^® is a patented form of Class I bicycle (covered, secure) parking enclosure that provides one or two bicycles complete protection from vandalism, theft and the elements. The tough polyethylene, compound curved shell is further strengthened by steel reinforcement and is attached by industrial spring-loaded hinges to a steel bicycle guide and frame. The Bikelid’s® locking mechanism is secured by the bicyclist’s own lock and the unit can be installed on any ground surface.

MATERIALS:

Steel: Steel used for BikeLid manufacturing generally contains 80-100% recycled content.

Plate, Shapes, and Bars: ASTM A36

Pipe: Standard-weight steel pipe complying with ASTM A53

Powder Coating Finishes: Environmentally safe, powder coatings are made without solvents. As a result, they emit zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Powder coating overspray can be recycled.

Baked-Enamel, Powder-Coat Finish: Manufacturer’s standard, baked, powder-coat finish complying with finish manufacturer’s written instructions for surface preparation, including pretreatment, application, baking, and minimum dry film thickness.

Baked-Thermoplastic, Powder-Coat Finish: Manufacturer’s standard, baked, thermoplastic finish complying with finish manufacturer’s written instructions for surface preparation, including pretreatment, application, baking, and minimum dry film thickness.

Polyethylene: A basic BikeLid shell contains more than10% recycled polyethylene and is 100% recyclable.

Rotational Molding Grade Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE): Processed to Manufacturer’s standard specification in compliance with polyethylene manufacturer’s written instructions.

Pellets: NRA-235, a high performance, general purpose, UV-stabilized rotational molding grade resin that is compounded to provide a balance of toughness, rigidity, and low temperature impact strength.

Powder: NRP-135, a consistent 35 mesh powder ground from pellets.

Fasteners: Stainless Steel or Aluminum

Commercial quality, tamperproof, vandal and theft resistant.

OEM Mono-bolts, pop-rivets, bolts, and nuts complying with fastener manufacturer’s written instructions and specifications.

Anchors: For securing to concrete substrate

Commercial quality, tamperproof, vandal and theft resistant.

3 ½”x 3/8” ITW Ramset/Redhead Trubolt wedge anchors, Group II, Type 4, Class I.

INTERFACE

Unit opens at one end by lifting handles in plastic shell.

The unit requires no door: the entire shell pivots on spring assisted hinge point to open.

2) Unit offers “Wheel Guide” and center support tube for bracing of bicycle(s).

3) User provides padlock, cable lock, or U-Bolt lock to secure unit.

4) Unit accommodates one or two bicycles.
